FAQs for the Mike Manship Driving School in Aberystwyth
Just a few quick questions we always get asked.
How many lesson will I need?
This is a very difficult question to answer as everyone is very different. The Driving Standards Agency (the people who run the test) states on average people that pass the test have had about 40 hours of professional tuition.
In my experience on average between 30-50 lessons for a complete beginner.
Obviously if someone has some experience this figure will drop. Some are natural drivers, some are not. I will discuss these matters with you on your first lesson.
Should I practice with my mum, dad or a friend?
I always recommend that my pupils get as much practice as possible as it will increase confidence and make you feel more comfortable behind the wheel. However, before you do please ask me first. Remember I have dual controls – your parents don’t!!
On a serious note the person who accompanies you must be over 21 years of age and have held a full driving licence for 3 years.
Should I have more than one lesson a week?
This depends on how intensively you would like to learn and how quickly you would like to pass your driving test.
